On March 17, 1917, five women, Minna Goldsmith Mahler, Eva Effron Robin, Ida Bienstock Landau, Sylvia Steireman Cohn, and Dorothy Cohen Schwartzman (the DIMES),  founded Delta Phi Epsilon at the New York University Law School on the principle of justice, sisterhood, and love. These principles, as well our motto "Esse Quam Videri", better known as "to be rather than to see to be," built the foundation for the incredible sisterhood that Dphie has become. Delta Phi Epsilon members have achieved high levels of leadership and recognition both Nationally and locally. We celebrate our annual founders day, on March 17, to honor these women who have inspired not only us but thea many other Delta Phi Epsilon chapters throught the country. We owe our sisterhood to our founders and are forever grateful for the experience and lifelong impact it has given us.

National History of Delta Phi Epsilon
History of the Lambda Chapter

Our Chapter at Adelphi was colonized during the 2011-2012 school year.  As a group of women looking for a sorority that would build sisters up and promote true sisterhood within the Greek community. For our founders, Delta Phi Epsilon was a home away from home. We have grown exponentially in our numbers along with mantaining a strong presence on campus and throughout the community. We have worked so hard since founding and this past school year we recieved 5 star recognition for Sorority Excellence both in Adelphi and our National Headquarters! Today, our sisters continue to uphold to our founding values through our philanthropy and our strong sisterhood.
